This week we're featuring Aron Vaughan, Managing Editor, Cannabis & Tech Today! Aron is a proven journalist in multiple sectors including B2B SaaS, technology, and cannabis. He has over 200 published articles and high-profile interviews.

So what brought him into the cannabis industry? What does his day-to-day look like? Find out in his answers to the Q&A:

What inspired you to start covering the cannabis industry, and how has your perspective evolved since you began?

Growing up, I have always been a cannabis advocate, participating in marches for legalization and writing essays and op-eds on the benefits of the plant. That advocacy grew over time as I delved into more research and heard personal anecdotes about how cannabis has helped ease pain, provide an alternative to alcohol and addictive drugs, etc. As a professional writer, I could think of few better niches to spend my time researching and engaging in.

What does a typical day look like for you as a journalist/editor/podcast host in the cannabis space?

I wear many hats, covering breaking legislative news, researching the latest science, interviewing thought leaders and brand representatives, and turning the knowledge I gain into valuable and engaging content for our audience.

What are some of the most compelling trends, stories, or issues in the cannabis industry right now that you think deserve more attention?

Intoxicating hemp, legal landscape, celebrity endorsements and brands, beverages, infusion.

What advice would you give to cannabis businesses or PR professionals hoping to connect with you or pitch their stories effectively?

National and international focus, psychedelic therapy and move into the mainstream, deep industry insights and data, celebrity brand.

What’s been one of the most memorable stories or moments in your career covering cannabis so far?

Interviewing boxing legend, Mike Tyson.
